Hello church! How amazing to think that each week our church runs four services: AM Church, Kidz Church, Café Church and PM Church. Although we might not physically be in the same place at the same time, we are all one big church family. I do not write this to boast, but I write this with great excitement! That God has so richly blessed us over the years.
For the past seven weeks I’ve been travelling through Europe with my family. It was such a good time to spend time together, seeing the magnificent world! But I am so glad to be back, and back to my church family!
Last week I was reading Philippians 4:6-7, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
I’ve read these verses a million times, but for some reason I’ve always skipped over the last part, “And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
Have you ever felt like a weight has been taken off your shoulders when you pray to God? It’s exactly what God wants us to do. He wants us to pray about everything, both good and bad, to give thanks, to pray and pray again. God wants to be connected with you (through prayer), and via that, His peace (through Jesus) will guard our hearts and our minds.
This week, spend time in prayer. Maybe it means getting up that little bit earlier, or praying during your lunch break. Make time to give everything over to Him!
As the Christmas season approaches (well it’s still over a month away!), pray for those that don’t know God, pray for our church leaders, pray for your neighbours, your work colleagues that don’t know Jesus. Pray and give thanks for what God has done for you and your family this past year.
