For me it’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas.
O Holy Night, the night Jesus was born. It wasn’t a Silent Night for Mary with the animals in the manger and O Little Town of Bethlehem buzzing with activity. Just nine months prior Joseph had asked himself What Child is This Mary carries? But after he learned this baby would be “God with us” I think he would have looked upon baby Jesus Away in the Manger with a smile on his face. He probably wanted to Go Tell it on the Mountain of the birth of the boy. For the safety Mary’s Boy Child he kept silent. The angels however did not. Hark the Herald Angels sang “Glory to God in the Highest”! They spoke to humble shepherds about the great news, news that was Joy to the World; ‘unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, who is Christ the Lord’ (Luke 2:11).
BPCC Carols planning is well underway! These song titles are just some of what we will be singing this year.
Carols is a wonderful opportunity for us to invite our friends, family, colleagues, school and uni friends to Church. At BPCC we want to GO into our circles; to be faithful witnesses of Jesus Christ and the truth of the gospel. We also want to Serve putting the needs of others before our own; bringing time, talents and treasure that God has entrusted us for the good of building His people and community. Carols is a wonderful opportunity to do BOTH.
Carols is on two nights, Saturday the 6th and Sunday the 7th of December. I am prayerfully and sincerely asking you – BPCC – to commit to asking your ‘circle’ (friends, family, colleagues) to one of the evenings and to serve at the other. Will you partner with your Church? Will you do this with us?
It is my earnest prayer that Carols is used as an opportunity to share the Gospel. An opportunity to celebrate the birth of the Saviour King. An opportunity to work together as a church family and make this happen.
I look forward to hearing from you about how and where you can serve at Carols this year. Please keep the Carols nights in your prayers as well.
‘The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all’ 2 Cor 13:14
