“Jesus is the greatest gift at Christmas. You won’t find Him underneath the Christmas tree. ‘Cause most of all us sinners need a saviour. Come see the greatest Christmas gift, look to Jesus Christ and live, Jesus is the greatest gift that there will ever be” (words our Kids Choir sang from the song “Greatest Christmas Gift” by Colin Buchanan).
I can’t believe Carols 2014 is over! I am so thankful we shared the message that Jesus is the greatest gift and I want to take this opportunity to say thank you to everyone who was involved! To put on an event like Carols takes a team of people, and many different tasks. So whether you were involved in decorating, baking, singing, setting-up, cooking, greeting, or in any other way, let me say, thank you! Every single person involved was important and made Carols 2014 the success it was. Most of all lets praise God who, I believe, used the weekend to clearly communicate the message of Jesus as ‘The Gift’.
We had many visitors come along to Carols, and many people who don’t know Jesus as their Saviour, so lets continue to pray that the message they heard will grow in their hearts and their desire for Jesus will deepen. Those people are the reason why we put so much effort and energy into our Carols event, so that the gospel may be proclaimed and God may be glorified.
This week in Adam’s message we will be reminded that Jesus is ‘God with us’. Carols isn’t the only time we can invite our family and friends to Church. Invite them to Church this weekend as we hear the wonderfully shocking truth of Christmas; that God is with us.
