Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their toil’. Ecclesiastes 4:9.
I was encouraged to see the fruit of our church working together last Saturday (at the October Baby movie night). I saw a group of individuals come together and use their talent and time to produce a wonderful Café and Movie experience.
Individually there were; bakers, cleaners, decorators, hosts, welcomers, organisers, baristas, sound operators and audio visual operators. It was evident they had ‘good reward for their toil’ and God was glorified through it. Further, we were able to bless the ‘Priceless Life’ organisation with proceeds made from the night.
I love seeing the church work as a team doing something like this! As God’s word says; we are a body of believers whom God has composed. The body has parts that serve different purposes and when individuals (parts) work as a body we are able to produce a night like last Saturday!
‘As it is, there are many parts, yet one body. The eye cannot say to the hand, “I have no need of you,” nor again the head to the feet, “I have no need of you.” On the contrary, the parts of the body that seem to be weaker are indispensable, and on those parts of the body that we think less honourable we bestow the greater honour, and our unpresentable parts are treated with greater modesty, which our more presentable parts do not require. But God has so composed the body, giving greater honour to the part that lacked it, that there may be no division in the body, but that the members may have the same care for one another’. 1 Corinthians 12:20-25.
